In this new in  part we will see below what are the rules of basketball

The original rules of basketball were written by Dr. James Naismith 

in December 1891, in Springfield, Massachusetts and published in January 

of the following year in The Triangle, the school newspaper of Springfield College.

1.      The ball can be thrown in any direction, with one or both hands.

2.      The ball may be hit in any direction, with one or both hands, but never with the fist.

3.      The player may not run with the ball. The player must throw the ball from the place where he catches it. 

4.      The ball must be carried in or between the hands. The arms or the body must not be used to hold it.

5.      It is not permitted to shoulder, grab, push, shove, trip or strike the opponent in any way. 

To play basketball is very important to follow this rules and memorize them, because they can kick you out of the game.

In the basketball rules you will find that some deal with contact with other players and others with the ball, those that deal with contact with other players are called "fouls" because it is a foul against the other player (such as hitting the arm, pushing, and others)

the other rules that are about the ball are called "violations" because it is a violation of the rules (such as catching the ball and dribbling it again, walking with the ball, and others)
